I joined the United States Navy in September 1996. My Boot Camp was in Great Lakes in the Chicago Illinois area. After I graduated from NTC, my first duty station was NAS Whidbey Island, Washington. My first squadron was VAQ 129, which platform was EA6Bs. I spent the first year working as a plane captain because I came in undesignated, but in that time was able to observe all the different aviation rates and decided that I wanted to become an Aviation Electronics Technician.  This earned me the rate of E4.  While serving in VAQ 129 I was honored to be able to serve on four aircraft carriers. I served on the USS Lincoln, the USS Carl Vincent, the USS enterprise, and the USS Connie.  I got married to another Navy sailor and we had our first born daughter Kayla in 1999.  Because my husband at the time was active duty Navy as well, we decided that I would do a TAR conversion to become US Navy Reserves Active Duty. It’s pretty much as a fancy way of saying I’ll never hit a deployment again. I was still 24/7.  At the end of my four years with VAQ 129. I then got reassigned to VP 69 P3 Orion’s.  This by far was my favorite airplane to work on and this was definitely an ATs dream airplane. No better way to learn your rate then to work on an airplane that is pretty much designed for your rate. While serving in VP 69 sadly our firstborn daughter passed away at the age of 11 months old.  I had a hard time, of course transitioning back to the flight line so I was provided with an opportunity to become the squadron’s Maintenance Training LPO. It was during this time that I was able to gain confidence and knowledge and all aspects of navy manuals , regulations, and instruction.  I was able to earn our squadron their first ever zero hit discrepancy on a wing audit and received a Navy Marine Corps Achievement Medal. And our squadron earned a MUC (Meritorious Unit Commendation).  With time and lots of patience from probably the best leadership I’ve ever served under I was able to return to the flight line and earn qualifications on the P3 Orion and my Aviation Warfare Specialist Wings. A year later I gave birth to my second daughter Bailey and was promoted to the rank of E5.  I had at this point spent eight years in Whidbey and was at station too long and therefore was transferred to NASJRB Willow Grove in Pennsylvania. This led me to the platform of DC9 aircraft. I started off in the maintenance training department again for the second time and earned VR 52 their first zero hit discrepancy on a wing audit and received my second Navy And Marine Corps Achievement Medal and second MUC.  I then transitioned out of the training department to become a Supervisor for the 130 Paraloft.  Once they were able to find a Supervisor for the 130 shop I was transferred to the 200 division and was able to earn my second qualification for my Aviation Warfare Specialist Wings. My marriage to my first husband had came to an end and it was just my second daughter and I. A year and a half later I met my second husband Frank, who was also stationed with me at VR 52. In January 2008 I decided to discharge from the U.S. Navy and focus more on raising my daughter.  While Frank maintained his service to the Navy, he was then transferred to NASJRB New Orleans. Of course he would never leave my daughter and I behind and so we all travel to New Orleans together. We were married in 2010 at NASJRB New Orleans. In 2011 Frank discharged from the US Navy and we moved to Florida and a month later I gave birth to our son Aidan. We spent 11 years living in Pasco County, but had always desired to live in Lakeland and in 2021 we were blessed and we were able to find our forever home in North Lakeland!  Our son is in his 10th grade year at Lake Gibson and I am so thankful that we live here now we just absolutely love Lakeland and Polk County!!
